I loved '9½ Weeks,' and 'Last Tango in Paris,' 'Blue Is the Warmest Color,' these sorts of films. I wanted to make sure that we were taking it into that world rather than just making a glossy, soft-core porn. It felt like important subject matter that we had to elevate.
