Zabriskie Point

Antonioni's Zabriskie Point is an amazing, beautiful, misunderstood film, a masterpiece. And I would say it's definitely influenced me in terms of how I think about narrative and atmosphere.

When I was first thinking of making the film, I remember thinking a lot about Antonioni's Zabriskie Point. I've always loved the look and feel of that film, the way the landscape and the characters coexist. We tried to incorporate some of that.

There were some experimental films from the ’60s like Zabriskie Point that were quite powerful with their colors, there was a lot of new lighting, new ways of capturing night scenes. So, of course, all that has influenced me.
