I was around 12 or 13 when I saw 'The Castle of Cagliostro,' and it was the first time I realized that animated films could be so sophisticated and artistic, not just for kids. That film really opened my eyes to the potential of animation and definitely pushed me towards this path.

The films of Hayao Miyazaki, especially Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind and Laputa: Castle in the Sky, were shown to me at a very impressionable age, when I was in elementary or middle school. Those films are undoubtedly part of my foundation and formed the backbone of my understanding of film.
