Seven Samurai 1954 · Akira Kurosawa Atlas note The Criterion Channel

Atlas note · Japan → Australia

On the film's audio commentary, Peter Weir explicitly discusses how he studied Akira Kurosawa's 'Seven Samurai' and 'Yojimbo' for their masterful pacing, the way they build tension, and the narrative of an outsider integrating into and defending a closed community. These films significantly influenced the suspense and rhythm he sought in 'Witness'.
