Trouble Every Day

I love Trouble Every Day by Claire Denis, it’s a brilliant film. I love how she directs the flesh. It’s almost like a documentary on flesh, it’s not beautiful. In films, when you see blood and it’s beautiful, it becomes aesthetic, it is less horrible. For me, what is horrible is when the flesh is filmed for what it is. And Claire Denis does that brilliantly. She creates desire through flesh, through blood. That’s something that I think is brilliant and that I took from her, definitely.
