Taste of Cherry

I’m very inspired by Abbas Kiarostami. I grew up with his films. Taste of Cherry is one that really got to me, how he manages to create empathy and understanding for a character through this very simple, almost detached observation. That was certainly in my mind for The Florida Project.

I think Kiarostami is certainly one of the directors who has influenced me the most. In particular, his films where people are in cars having conversations, like Taste of Cherry or Ten, have had a very deep impression on me.
