I like the idea that a movie can be an immersive experience. I often refer to Wim Wenders’ Pina, for example, where I felt that the camera was a dancer. I felt myself on stage. Arrival for me was designed that way.

I watched ‘Pina’ many times because that’s how you film dance... even though this is not a dance film, it’s a choreography of everyday life.
