Mouchette

What I had done was, I had shown everybody in the crew Au hasard Balthazar, and I think I also showed them Mouchette.

I was thinking of Bresson's Mouchette as a reference point. The character of Mouchette is very mysterious, provocative and isolated, and there's something of that spirit in Isabelle. I didn't want to explain why she does what she does, but to describe the path she takes to get there.
