Gomorrah

Another film that I watched a lot while writing was Matteo Garrone’s Gomorrah. That film is the ultimate for its specific tone, and also because it focuses on a world that is driven by something other than money.

I am a big fan of Matteo Garrone. Gomorrah was a film that influenced me a lot, because it's a very realistic approach to violence, very unsentimental. I also took inspiration from his way of using the camera as an observer.

We also looked at films like City of God and Gomorrah – films that take a deep look at how illegal economies operate and how they corrupt an entire society.
